I found this to be particularly interesting. Only 12% of the households in Girdwood have been here 11 years or more. That's stunning to me. And, 5% have been there 6-10 years. That's stunning to me. And a full 81% have been in the community 5 years or less. That's stunning to me.
So, the question for the church is...what do we do in a community that is so highly transient as Girdwood is? Most of the people in our church have been around for longer than 5 years...even those (like our organist) that have been around longer than 60 years. How can we mobilize to meet those who are moving in and moving out?
